Summer 2011

We finally bought our tickets for our summer vacation.
We are finally going back to Ocean City, MD, not to be confused with Ocean City, NJ.
I am so excited. We wanted to go last year and couldn't make it work, but this year we can.

Ocean City is across the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore and the surrounding areas. It is an island/peninsula that is its own little world. On one side is the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other side is the Chesapeake Bay. If you go far enough north, you will end up in Delaware.

I can not wait to see this beautiful place again:

Even with all the crowds of people.

And work on my tan.

Possibly spend some time on the bay side.

This is the view from BJ's on the Water.

Of course we could get into some crazy shenanigans and run into a mustache night:

We were wearing these mustaches before it became all the rage.
I think I even brought it home with me, but I have no idea where it is.

I also plan on spending A LOT of my time doing this:

Where are you going on your summer vacation?

A Day of Disasters & Summer Schemes

The trusty steed aka our car (yes we only have one, my car did not feel like making another 500 mile drive so it is relaxing in front of my parents' house) needs a new fuel pump. It costs $750. Yeah right. We spent 4 hours waiting and waiting and waiting for the diagnosis. I did some shopping and found this:

I did not get it, but really wish I would have. Oh well.

I also just remembered that I used to really love Feist, so have a listen.

My List of "Schemes" for the Summer (or just plain things I want to do):
1. Go to Santa Monica and peruse the boutiques.
2. Watch a sunrise and sunset on the beach.
3. Make peach cobbler or homemade peach ice cream.
4. Spend a day in a completely unique part of San Diego.
5. Go camping in Carlsbad.
6. Roast marshmallows; drink ice cold beer; and lounge on the patio.
7. Barbeque a delicious steak, and make every side homemade, including grilling corn.
8. Eat my body weight in fresh fruits and vegetables.
9. Walk more, drive less.
10. Ride bicycles on the beach; near the beach.
11. Dance under the stars... Reminding me of the time Chris and I made dinner and danced in the kitchen.
12. Enjoy being youthful.
13. Outdoor concert, preferably country, but really, any kind.

Those are just some of what I plan on calling my Summer Schemes...

I am in love

with this:

It is delicious.
It is sweet, and yummy.
It is refreshing.
It is perfectly unique.
It is orange-y.
Thankfully, it is not bloody.
And the whole pint, yes, the whole pint has 240 calories.
That's like one scoop of ice cream.
It is my new favorite, absolutely.
I can't wait to try the other kinds of sorbet.
Like:
Banana-Mango.
Raspberry.
Lemon Zest.
Coconut.
Prickly Pear.
I'm dying thinking about it. YUM!

I broke a rule today. I drank a can of Diet Coke. I had given it up, it tasted so glorious. I have to continually tell myself that I no longer like it. Thanks mom for leaving like 10 cans in my fridge.

My Blog is Lazy Today

My parents are visiting for the weekend.
I'll have photos up later.
Saturday we went to the library, had lunch, and went shopping. Then dinner in Old Town.
Today we went to the beach, bbqed hot dogs, took naps, and then went to Corvette Diner.
My skin is dry, dry, dry. Well, it usually is dry. And now it is extra dry. I deep conditioned my hair, extra lotion on my arms, legs, and face and a double dose of lotion on my feet. My feet are the worst offenders. And not that you care, but having acne and having dry skin that's oily is really difficult. I clean, tighten, and pull my skin apart and then moisturize. It pretty much sucks.
But I'm only sunburned on one side of my leg; my tan is increasing; and I know I'll sleep well.
I love summer and 4th of July!

Summertime and the Livin's Easy

Summer is my favorite season. I love it, especially here in San Diego, although, none of these photos are from San Diego, but please ignore that and focus on the feeling of summer.

Today actually felt like summer. I went to church, had lunch, Chris and I took a 6 mile walk around the lake, I got a sunburn. Then I went to lay out by the pool and went swimming. It felt glorious. I may or may not get in the pool again, but it felt great none the less.

Summer has the best clouds and the best beautiful blue skies. Especially here in California. It is, by far, the greatest. This is Lake Tahoe for 4th of July. Absolutely beautiful.

I don't really like to swim, but at the same time, it is perfectly summer. This is from childhood, my dad and me. In our pool. I miss that house and being a carefree child.

And how doesn't love sitting on the beach? I love it. Yes, those are my tan legs. Lucky me, although, right now, they are not so tan. This is in Ocean City, Maryland. The cards were not in it for us this year to go, but next year, you'll see us.

And if the beach at the ocean is not your thing, have no fear, the lake beach can be yours. This is Lake Tahoe. It is perfect in the summer. Absolutely fabulous.

I do not like baseball, but it is the summer sport. And if I can watch Nick Markakis play then I am a happy girl.

I LOVE SUMMER!
