Yes, I did.



I gave in, like everyone else.
I red Ms. James' books and LOVED them.
I didn't read them for the sex, although for some that might be the reason they choose to read them, I thought the storyline was so powerful.  
My sister said it was like a grown up version of Twilight, but I just loved that the characters had so much depth and personality.  
I can totally understand how the book might not be for you, and I think that's fine.  But for anyone that is truly afraid of it being too much, if you can get past some of the (eew I hate using this word) "kinkiness" of it, you might truly enjoy it.  
Or you might not, and that's okay.

Fly Over States

First of all, I love that song by Jason Aldean.  
Although, I got the CD as a gift when it first came out and it was called: "Fly Over Town," not that that random tidbit of information was worthwhile at all.  

Second, I'm in the airport blogging which makes me a real bonafide blogger, I think.
If only I felt like taking pictures of my stack of magazines, my ginormous bottle of water, and my peppermint tea.  But, now you know what I'm doing.  

Third, my flight is delayed to wait for connecting passengers because this is the last flight back to Sandy Eggo.  Seriously, you're gonna make us board and sit on the plane for an hour?  Shame on you.  

Anyway, I thought I'd share some tidbits of my life at the moment.
If you like a quiet airport for napping or concentrating, I suggest flying on Saturday afternoons.  
It is DEAD in here.  Very peaceful.  

Enjoy your memorial day.  Drink beer or sangria, eat burgers or hot dogs, lots of watermelon, and enjoy time with your loved ones.

I won't be blogging much because I'm celebrating my little sister's college graduation.  
I've been relaxing and enjoying time with my family.

What's Going on Around Here

I like to write things down, sometimes, in the form of lists, often times, just because I'm a weirdo.  
I'm packing to visit my family for 9 days (I hope I survive) and it always starts like this:


A very pretty and laid out list of what I might want to bring with me and pack. 
It looks like a lot, but my suitcase isn't even halfway full.  

Here they are:


Little suitcase is my carry on.
Big suitcase is only half full.  
That means I'll probably have to revise my list.  
I'm not really very organized, but I like to pretend that writing it down helps me remember everything.  


I fell off the treadmill on Saturday at the gym.  
(This photo is the G rated one, the first one I took from the other angle showed up my pajamas which is not the look I was going for).  
I wish it was a great story that I was running and slid off the treadmill because I was in the zone and not paying attention.  
It didn't happen that way.  
I had gotten off, went to get a towel and some cleanser to wipe it down, was standing on it, had finished wiping it off, was grabbing my water and my phone, and although I thought I was stepping onto the floor, I missed and hit the end of the treadmill and got a rug burn THROUGH MY PANTS.  
Nobody stopped to help, I was embarrassed.  

And in case you wanted to know what I look like at this exact moment, here yo go:

That's what I plan on calling them from now on.

Things that get on my nerves, but I don't like to dwell on negative things, so this will be quick.  

I've lost 30 pounds, and it feels amazing.
I've also lost 2 - 3 pants sizes.  
That feels great too.  

I now look like this:

I'm pretty happy with it, and I'm glad that I was able to to do this for myself.  

I do however, have a problem with people saying I am too skinny.  
I am not too skinny.
I am now average.
It frustrates me that people tell me to not lose anymore and to maintain because I'll be too thin.  I might look like a starving Somalian child.  Those things are almost as hurtful as someone telling me I still look fat.  
If you weren't a fat child, you don't know what it means to be thin.  I have never been thin.  I have never been average even, until now.  
I know you think you're speaking in my best interest, or that you think I am being too extreme, but you don't know.  
You can say, oh when I used to wear a size 4 or before I had kids I was so slender.  
I don't have that option.  
My when I was thinner, is now.  
Let's take a trip down memory lane (from puberty forward) at what size pants I wore:

12 - 12
13 - 12
14 - 14
15 - 16
16 - 12
17 - 12
18 - 12
19 - 14
20 - 14
21 - 10
22 - 8
23 - 12
24 - 14
25 - 6 -8

Now, from the age of 12, only was once I even close to the size I am now.  I'm not saying that wearing an 8 or a 10 is a bad thing, but I wanted to be healthier, feel better about myself, and look better.  There wasn't a time that I was happy about myself back then.  It frustrates me to no end that people tell me to be something I'm not.  

The first question they asked me was, who wants you to lose more weight?  I assume they think that Chris is pressuring me.  I've been dating him an awful long time for that to matter.  And no, it isn't him, it is me.  I want to be strong and fit and healthy.  I want to wear cute clothes and feel comfortable in my own skin.  Is that really a big deal?  

I am not too skinny, I will never be too skinny.  But you don't help someone by telling them they are too thin.  Unless you know they aren't eating or are abusing their bodies, or using drugs, let them be.  They will be happier that way.

My eating has been out of control, but sometimes life happens and I have to step back and focus on it again.  
Hard boiled eggs and salads are baaack.

How I've Spent My Weekend


Yesterday was Chris's birthday.
I thought I was feeling sick, but we headed up to Santa Monica to spend some time on the pier and at Venice Beach.
It was a pretty day out, lots of walking, and although I got a slight burn, Chris got really burned.
We're really talented at taking photos.

I don't know the last time I was this sick.
It is awful, in fact, being sick when it is warm out, is the worst.

I Finally Tried...

Overnight Oats.
I've been seeing this lady eat them all the time.  

I am now addicted.
Can I eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

I don't have a photo, yet, but here's how I make them:

1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 Chobani champions Honey-Nana
1 tbsp chia seeds

Sit overnight.
Maaaybe put a dash more almond milk and stir it up in the morning.
Slice banana onto it, sweeten with stevia if necessary.

DEVOUR.  

I might, if I remember, add photos tomorrow.

Leg Destroyers aka training my legs:

Leg extension:  105 x 10 x 3 (weight, reps, sets)

Glute machine: 70 x 10; 70 x 10; 80 x 10

Leg press & calf press:  235 x 10; 255 x 10 x 2

Rotating calf:  90 x 10 x 2; 95 x 10

Squats:  60 x 10 x 3

Deadlift:  60 x 10 x 3

Reverse lunges:  30 x 10 x 3 (per leg)

15 min elliptical:
ramp 15 forward resistance 5
ramp 15 backward resistance 7
ramp 20 forward resistance 5
ramp 20 backward resistance 7

My legs will be dead tomorrow.
